railroad spike bolt
This railroad spike bolt, also known as rail screw spike, is a dedicated self-tapping fastener for fixing steel rails to concrete, wooden and composite sleepers. It features a square anti-rotation head with an integrated pressure flange and continuous thick self-tapping threads along the shank.
Forged from high-strength carbon steel, the spike delivers superior tensile, shear and pull-out resistance to withstand long-term vibration and impact from passing trains. The whole body adopts hot-dip galvanizing treatment, forming a thick, uniform zinc protective layer that resists rain, snow, salt fog and atmospheric corrosion for long-term outdoor railway operation environments.
The integrated flange head evenly distributes compression force on rail base plates, preventing local indentation and loose fastening. The wide deep self-tapping threads bite tightly into sleeper material without pre-drilling, creating stable holding force that resists loosening under dynamic loads. The square head fits special rail wrenches, avoiding slippage during installation and maintenance.
Railroad spike bolts are widely applied in conventional railway lines, high-speed rail, subway tunnels and mine transportation tracks, serving as the core fastener to lock steel rails firmly on sleepers. Compared with traditional flat spikes, this screw-type design provides stronger holding power and easier replacement during track maintenance.
We support full customized production: adjustable total length, shank diameter, thread pitch and galvanized layer thickness according to railway engineering specifications. Custom branding marking and bulk export packaging are available for railway infrastructure manufacturers and track construction contractors.
All railroad spike bolts undergo strict pre-delivery inspections, including pull-out resistance test, hardness test, galvanized layer thickness measurement and thread matching inspection, ensuring reliable anti-loosening performance and long service life under harsh outdoor track operating conditions for each batch.
